2018 Heritage Forum


SEDA is pleased to support the Province of Saskatchewan in hosting a Heritage Forum on February 22, 2018 in Saskatoon. The forum will be held at the Western Development Museum from 9:30 am to 4:15 pm. 

Public engagement and consultation are key to any successful community development initiative. Whether creating strategic plans, or other types of development tools and programs, involving citizens in the process taps the collective knowledge of residents, builds support, promotes ownership of decisions, and ensures a diversity of points of view.

The 2018 Municipal Heritage Forum is an opportunity to learn how four Saskatchewan communities undertook citizen-driven initiatives that leverage local heritage and culture resources to stimulate economic development and enhance the quality of community life. At the forum, the project consultants will share best practices for public engagement, and describe tools that were developed to implement the communities’ visions for growth and prosperity. Guests from the case-study communities will discuss what it took to implement their projects, and describe the impacts the projects are having on their communities.

2. Prince Albert: Creating an Award-Winning Municipal Cultural Plan
3. Swift Current: Heritage and Downtown Master Planning
4. Coronach: Connecting Past, Present and Future: the Living Heritage of Coronach’s Coal Industry

Registration is Free for staff, Boards and committee members of Accredited Main Street Saskatchewan organizations, and for members of Affiliate Main Street Saskatchewan partner organizations.  Please use the code Forum2018Comp when registering online. CANCELLATION POLICY

Full refunds for cancellations received in writing before February 1, 2018. No refunds for cancellations after that date.
