Michelle was born and raised in the beautiful town of Maple Creek. She is happily married with one daughter and is a very proud grandmother of an energetic grandson. In 1994 Michelle studied under Darlene Boychuk at the Commercial Hotel where she received my short order cook papers. After preparing delicious meals for the community for three years, she decided to take correctional officers training to work at the Okimaw Ochi Healing lodge located in the Neekaneet reserve. Following some more soul searching, she embarked on a different career path. in 1998.

Michelle found the job that fills her heart and soul and is employed as a Continuing Care Aide at the Integrated Healthcare Facility in Maple Creek. In 2012 she ran for a seat as Town Councilor and won the position. In May of 2018, Michelle was voted in as interim Mayor by Council, after the former Mayor took early retirement. In September 2018 Michelle ran and won the position of Mayor for the Town of Maple Creek. 

Michelle also sits on the Board of Directors for the Southwest District of Culture Recreation and she co-chairs the Southwest Municipal Government Committee.
